1 Week Meal Plan Using Mountain House Kits with Additions
Servings
Mountain House kits come with 2 Person Pouches for every meal. Each pouch has 2 servings or 2 Cups of the meal. You may find that you can split a kit across two people if you have light eaters or small children in your family. So adjust the number of kits based on the eating habits of your family.
This meal plan includes additional fruits, vegetables and snacks because it is unlikely that the kits alone would be able to keep a family satisfied. The additions provide more nutrition and fiber to the diet. They are the same across ALL of the meal plans.
The servings needed for the other freeze dried items (e.g. broccoli and pilot crackers) are in parenthesis next to the item. For example, we will need 6 servings (6s) of Broccoli with our meals. In the Shopping List below the meal plan, you will see the number of servings in the can. Adjust the servings needed for each meal according to your family’s needs.
There are TWO OPTIONS for creating a 1 Week Meal Plan using Mountain House Kits:
- Combine the 3 Day Meal Kit and the 4 Day Meal Kit.
- Combine the 2 Day Meal Kit and the 5 Day Meal Kit.

1 Week Meal Plan for 4 Using 3 Day and 4 Day Kits
This first meal plan shows a week of food for 4 people using the Mountain House 3 Day Meal Kit and the Mountain House 4 Day Meal Kit. You can see photos of the meals (provided by Amazon) by clicking on the links for each of the kits.
The calendar indicates the meal that would be served from that particular kit. So on Day 1, a SINGLE KIT has 1 Pouch of MH Biscuits & Gravy to be served as breakfast. You would need to buy 4 KITS in order to feed a family of 4.

Shopping List – 1 Week Meal Plan with 3 and 4 Day Meal Kits
**NOTE: If your family will only need one cup of each meal, then you can split the 2 cup pouches across two people. In that case, you would only need 2 Kits. The Custom Meal Plan uses 1 CUP servings for each meal. Only use 2 Kits in your calculations if you are trying to compare the cost of the Kit Meal Plan with the Custom Meal Plan. The costs are very close, as demonstrated in the 3 Day Meal Plan. So the bigger decision is whether your family will want to eat the meals in the kits.
